Back to fireworks.... private use is illegal here, with most communities having fireworks displays. However, there are several fireworks stores in the State. My daughter lives in a small city near us and a police officer shoots off fireworks in his yard! And, the police chief is usually in attendance.

I was at my sisters for the 4th a couple of years ago. She lived in the suburbs of Douglasville Ga. There were fireworks, shotguns, M16's, AK's, pistols, just everything. Her next door neighbor was a deputy and he went out in his front yard and emptied a few mags out of his Beretta 92. Then he went around picking up the empties JIC.  )L$

Will, the 13 Colonies Special Event is over and I got one more contact, that was W2Z, a bonus station.  :) I still didn't get one colony and  Great Britain, but 14 out of 16 is pretty good.  ])M

It is, and I'm not complaining, but a clean sweep would of been better.  :) I did get my first QSL card back from this special event, and that was from W2L in South Carolina.  _l You send them one of your cards along with a SASE, and they will send you theirs in the SASE you send them.  ])M

I fired my first reloads ( i.e. cartridges I reloaded myself) for my Kirst Konverter last Tuesday , 250g bullet with 5.5g of Titegroup powder - everything worked well except a lot of 'ricochets' of the rubber curtain backstop. So I loaded (5) rounds each of the same bullet with 5.7g and 5.9g and fired those last night - no ricochets but at 5.9g the loading lever kept coming down. Plan is to load (10) rounds at 5.8g hoping to get just a little more hummph without the loading lever dropping.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the coaching when I first joined.
