It's a damn shame you ain't closer by. For reasons I can not go into (too long of a story), Lauderdale County is one of my favorite places, but I doubt I'll ever get back that way.

We lived in Lauderdale until I was three. Dad had a garage there. The Quick Stop occupies the spot now.

I've found some meteorites with my Big 5 el cheapo detector. Sold them at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show for more than the detector cost. Seen a TV show where they was hunting them near Midland TX. They can get right pricey, sometimes up to 50 and 60 bucks a gram. Find them in the washes up in the foothills all around here.

Oh yeah!  some, and not even rare, meteorites are more valuable than gold.  Some even could buy you a nice ranch.  But The only ones I find are meterorwrongs  :'( :'( :'(

Using Murphy's law you should hunt for meteorwrongs, that way when things go wrong, it will be finding a meteorite  )L$ (?^ ->i
