Custom made round ball bullet moulds
« on: March 03, 2020, 07:29:02 AM »
Just took delivery today of two brass round ball moulds from Jeff Tanner in England. Hand made to order, any calibre you like.

One is for my Ruger Old Army .457" which obviously I can use in my Uberti Remington 1858.

The other is .375" for my original Colt Navy .36. They fit Lee handles and a re superb quality and value for money at 25 Pounds Sterling for the moulds.

I have a few of Jeff's molds and they are a great value. I bought mine several years ago and the prices were lower then.

Hello Guys,

Interesting concept, so you have to cut the sprue with a side cutter?

Hola Sledman

Yes you can, but all I do is use a pair of sharp wire cutting pliers to snip the sprues off, then toss the sprues back into the smelter.

These are high quality moulds. I have them in 12g round ball as well, looked after properly they'll last a lifetime.

Hey Guys,

They look simple enough, you could eliminate the sprue completely.

Thanks for sharing, AntiqueSledMan.

Yes, regular diagonal cutters will work well. You can also get some cutters with a concave cutting surface.
