Illuminating your black powder loading desk by candlelight.

Not to badmouth the 5th North Carolina Cavalry, but I would say not a good idea to use firelight at loading desk with a can of BP on it.
1) Youtube videos may come out too dark.
2) Explosion or fire may happen.

Hello Fielder,

After 27 years working on production equipment with common workers I have learned one thing,
You can't fix Stupid (or Ignorance).
Apparently he wants the melted wax for sealing the end of his cartridge,
then the explosive stuff should be removed from the area.
Also, no eye protection while shooting.
I have to wonder how he was graded on this College Project, or is he still studying.

There's better ways to melt wax but in all honesty I never wore glasses until I had to have them to see. I didn't use hearing protection til I was in my 20's and never have with .22 rifles.

5th North Carolina Cavalry doesn't look like he could even get up on a horse, much less ride it.

Good vid though - Re a way to never be.

Ummm… I must have missed something. I did not see him load a ball or conical into the paper cartridge or the chamber.

I guess my eyes must really be bad.

You're good Sourdough.  He didn't.  Pretty vague stuff goin on there.  The poor fellow seems not quite ready for prime time.  I'm not sure what he was trying to show us with that..  Maybe just himself.
