Bone Knife Handles
« on: October 03, 2019, 11:19:10 AM »
Tried buying some bones from butcher to make knife handles but they said they never get what I want...of course they  suggested  antlers.  But I want bone!   Any suggestions other than a meat market ?

Wild game such as deer, elk, bear, moose should work.  :9)

?? They never get any meat with bones?! I second Pustic's suggestion about wild game. Know any hunters? Several years ago I met a guy who raised Buffalo and asked if I could get some bones when he had some to be butchered. I was always going to try to make handgun grips from them but so far haven't tried it. Most any small town has a local butcher shop and I'll bet their beef/whatever comes with bones! I have some deer shin bones but they are only about a little over an inch or so wide. Thigh bones might be better, as well as shoulder bones.
