New-to-me rifle
« on: June 10, 2019, 12:36:22 PM »
When I came home from the hospital I had an email telling me I had won this rifle at the auction the previous Saturday. I won't be able to get my sweaty hands on it for probably 3 weeks as it is a 2 hour drive to pick it up. So, the only photos I have are auction photos.

Sorry, I posted this in the wrong place. Will someone please move to the breechloader rifle section?

That's gorgeous!
Do you plan to hand load for it?
Let's see the 500 yard targets!

Omni, I am not aware of any commercially loaded 45-90 cartridges. So yes, I will be handloading; I also have a Pedersoli Schuetzen Sharps in 45-90, and have the dies, brass and of course, many different 45 caliber molds. The only long range shooting facility near me (25 miles) is the Lodi, Wi. club (Winnequa Rifle Club), ranges up to 1000 yards. Previously, I had been shooting at a range at a rendezvous site that would go up to 400 yards. We are not going to participate in rendezvous events any more due to age, mobility, etc. so won't be going to that area.
