Pietta Replica Rigdon and Ansley .36
« on: January 19, 2018, 01:51:55 PM »
I know Pietta does not produce one but I take some liberties.

I found a used older smooth Pietta .36 cylinder (P/N A344 in original box) via a member on one of these BP forums for $20. It was in acceptable shape and had no cylinder safety pins, which made it a good candidate for a Rigdon and Ansley project with all the Italian proof marks on the front end of the cylinder.

A comparison between this cylinder (left) and another spare cylinder (right) as I received them (both with the same Pietta number A344 in box).

I cleaned up both of them and sent the no-pins one over to my machinist neighbor about a month ago to add 6 more stop slots.

Just got it back yesterday and reblued the machine cuts.

It isn't factory perfect but it works in practice and as a representation of an R&A.

Anyone else have one (other than Fingers with his ultimate collection)?

 Comments, please.
