A unique cap container
« on: October 19, 2017, 01:12:46 PM »
A friend and I do a lot of trading of items, guns, etc. The last trade items I got from him included this unique cap container:

As you can see, it is made from a pronghorn antelope antler. Steve made this design and secured the top with pine pitch. The thong is brain tan deer hide, logo is RMFCo for Rocky Mountain Fur Company.

Interesting.

yep pretty neat and very possible would of been authentic back then

hate to be nitpicky but pronghorns have horns not antlers
horn is from hair    antlers are technically bone
some horns get very well polished and are as smooth as an antler
Also pronghorns don't shed their horns  like deer elk etc shed antlers every year

Not hit-picky at all, just setting the record straight.
