Title: Traditions Pocket Handgun cleaning kit
Post by: Rebel Craig on January 14, 2020, 10:58:48 PM
Has anyone used one of these?
What do you think of it ?
Is it long enough for uses with a 5 1/2 Pietta 1858 ?

I kinda doubt  it. Look for a compact kit with a two or three piece rod.

I'm not a fan of Traditions brand stuff but I have one of their pocket cleaning kits for a long time.    The rod in my kit is two piece aluminum and works on my 8 inch guns.    I don't carry it around anymore but I leave a .45 bore mop on it and keep it on my bench.

I called Traditions Today and the guy I talked with in Customer Service told me that the rod was 2 piece and that the rod pieces fit inside the hollow handle along with the bore mop and the other accessory tips.
He also told me that as far as Length it ought to work for a 7 or 8 inch barrel so I will be fine with the 5 1/2 inch barrel.
