Here's a kit gun I was lucky enough to come across to put together up here , where even the regular kits are sometimes hard to come by. The newspaper the brass forestock was wrapped in is dated in Dec, 1977
45 cal with a 1 in 60 twist accompanied with all the original paper work. Now to locate some balls to stuff this with.

Nice find.  Kits that old are often missing parts or broken.
Here's one I noticed on ArmsList the other day.  This one has a wood forend.

As Mike said, kits that old are often missing parts. I bought a Pedersoli pistol kit that was old and it was only missing a couple of machine screws that I was able to make. Nice find on a different kind of rifle.

I have a CVA mountain rifle kit in .45 , barrel marked USA and maple stock still sealed. as far as i can tell thy only offered the maple the first year, would make it a 1974

I don't think I have ever seen that rifle with a Schuetzen butt plate!
