Two acquisitions, questions about nipples
« on: May 12, 2019, 02:17:21 PM »
Picked up 2 1858's. Pietta made 1989 and ASM made 1991. Have $225 for both from an auction. Stripped and Sonic cleaned.  Smoothed and cleaned, some wear on hand on Pietta, both cycle and are tight. Hammer springs are heavy, ordered some Wolffs. Need new nipples, Pietta are lager threads than ASM. Any thoughts as to size before I head to hardware store this week.   In photos Pietta nipples upper, ASM lower. Pietta light grip ASM dark grip

Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy, and tasteth good with ketchup.
