Dixie Spiller and Burr
« on: September 05, 2011, 01:28:34 PM »
Guess I'll get the ball rollin' here! I have a Dixie Spiller and Burr I bought from my brother back about twenty-five or six years ago. Nobody could hit squat wiith it. Finally just sat down and looked at it and realized the barrel had been screwed in just a tad too much. A couple of minutes with padded vise and a 2x2 and now she hits just fine. Love the way it handles, the balance is perfect and points great.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I've got the wrong side. There is a rotating key on the left side. Rotate 180 degrees then release the loading lever and pull it straight out. The cylinder drops right out. Not quite as fast as a Remmy, but pretty quick. Also, not as prone to gumming up as a Remmy.
