So what size caps would a shooter like that use? 9grns powder and a .315 ball?

I would mike out the cylinder bores before investing in balls. When I bought my Baby Dragoon (Colt's version of the Same Damn Thing) I was told it shot a .315 ball, so I bough a hundred. Imagine my surprise when I placed on on the cylinder mouth and it rolled right down to the bottom...D'oh! No shooting it THAT day. Come to find out the right size ball was a .322...not commercially available. Fortunately a bud had a .322 mould and cast me a couple hundo's.
Same with caps. Remmy #10 SHOULD fit but don't take that as gospel.

Thank you for the rapid reply, just the thought of having the gun and then waiting for the right balls to arrive a week later is almost unbearable LOL, but I got your point and I know your right. Thanks

Oh, and I think max load is around 15 grains give or take. 9 sounds about right.
