Cabelas Sale NOT TO BE MISSED!
« on: February 07, 2015, 02:02:36 PM »
For those interested in picking up a Colt revolver, check out the current sale at Cabelas. This goes on until February 16th, but Cabelas had been known to drop sales as suplies deplete.

Currently they have Pietta Colt model 1862 police 5" barrel, .36cal originally $299 on sale for $199.

www.cabelas.com/product/Pietta-Model-1862-Army-Police-36-Caliber-Revolver/740535.uts?No=0&destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fblack-powder-revolvers%2F_%2FN-1115136%2FNo-0%2FNs-MIN_SALE_PRICE%3FWTz_stype%3DGNU%26recordsPerPage%3D18

They also have the steel framed 1851 on sale too.

Check 'em out. Great deals right now on a couple of steel frames for the price of a brasser.

Thanks for the heads up!  I have both of the revolvers listed and both are good shooters!

The 1862, being a six shot is closer to an 1861 navy but is still a good handling revolver. If you're pondering  adding these to your collection, I would recommend either.
Nothing expresses Liberty more, than the report of a rifle shot fired in the defense of Freedom.

Wingman's "*side note, if you dislike Colts, no need to chime in with your opinion...
This thread is not for those who wish to continue the Remington vs. Colt rhetoric."

Good to know.

Been sold out anyway.

Certainly not a true 1862 copy but with the fluted cylinder a real looker.

A looker for sure.  If we call it a chopped '61 though, it gains some historical accuracy.  They sure are a handsome piece.

Johnnie, you managed to find a month+ old post he made just before the gate came crashing down.
As for the sale, that is long gone too.
Are you clicking on "Show Unread Posts Since Your Last Visit?"
That tool will prevent you reading older ones thinking they are "recent."

Dear Classanr
My Bad! I thought I HAD clicked on the very top line! "Unread posts since last Visit."  But my courser may have slipped down a fraction!  I'm getting so damned old nowadays!  I'm like the old guy who was leaving church one Sunday, and the Minister waiting at the door, to shake his hand, looked at him and said,"Harold, It is time you started thinking about, "The Hereafter!"
Harold looked u at the Minister, and replied, "Oh but I do, Pastor, I'm continually going into a room, and thinking to myself, "Now what an I here after?"
