Trade UP for a Remington!
« on: August 12, 2014, 04:32:34 PM »
Just wanted to chime in..... It's been awhile!
Just traded a Pietta 1851 Navy, and a repro flinter/horse pistol for a 1875 Remington "Outlaw".
Happy with trade, let y'all know when I get to shoot it. I'm told it's a tack driver.
Long Colt rounds seem to go right to the cylinder edge, anybody been shooting Schofield rounds out of a long colt? Much problem with leading?

I have a Remington Outlaw and yeah, the long Colt sits just about to the edge. I've never shot Schofield out of it, but it should work just fine. The Schofield ammo is basically a .45 Short Colt. You can safely shoot the Schofield from a Colt, but you can't shoot the Colt out of a Schofield.

I also have a '75 Remington Outlaw; they are made by Uberti. Mine is in 44-40, see the thread just under this one.
