That's a good price compared to when they came out a while back.   I'm sure the spare cylinder is not the engraved one.  Probably not a closeout since they are on backorder.

Good point about the backorder, I guess if they have to order them in it gives an idea of what the markup is on the pistols.

Something else I just looked into, according to "Cabela's Expert 3" the extra cylinder does indeed have the engraving.  ])M

Hi Mike, I suspect that the price will go back up in the next day or two. I just couldn't let this good deal pass.

Richard

Richard,  I've been sitting here wanting to push the button myself.  If I hadn't bought that 1851 Navy on Saturday I would have done it by now.    A spare engraved cylinder for it is even more incentive.

Hi Mike, I needed another 1858 like a hole in the head. That Cabelas deal is so good, I am buying the revolver as an investment. Give it a month or two and if necessary flip it on GunBroker for a $100-150 profit.

Regards,
Richard

Wow great price. Less then I paid for my 1858 with the starter kit a week and half ago.

Hi, reviewer #6 made an interesting comment on the cylinder chamber size for this revolver. He said:

"This is my third Pietta revolver." "One thing I will also say about this is that this revolver is the only one of the three with chambers equal in diameter to the bore. On the other 2 the chambers are smaller than the bore but on this one they're identical. It may be just luck, but I'm happy with it."

I can't wait to measure the cylinders chamber diameters.

Richard

Too fancy for me.

Hi Kaeto, I can't think of a better revolver to open carry at the next National Pimp's Convention.  )L$ (?^ ->i
