Well, here is a picture of the Pedersoli factory built pistol. Evidently these are kinda rare as they weren't offered as a regular offering; supposedly made on request, both finished guns and kits. I can't verify this, so......? This is a 45 caliber flintlock so now I have yet another project!  This is an older kit, dated 1987. east texas, if you see this please PM me.

That's beautiful, love the long barrel.

Although, a bayonet lug might be cool too  ;)

Some where I have an article from one of the black powder magazines from a few decades ago about the Bounty Hunter. Guy rigged it up with saddlebag weights just back of the muzzle for better muzzle control.lol I will look for the article. I know in the article he was getting it ready for deer hunting and did harvest a deer.
Might have been William Hovey Smith.

Still looking for the Dixie Gun Works Blackpowder Annual with the article. I went on line to see if I could find it posted somewhere but only found this.http://hoveyhunts.com/2010/04/12/hunting-big-game-with-muzzleloading-pistols-ruger-old-army-cabela-buffalo-revolver-hunting-deer-and-hogs-with-pistols-black-powder-pistols-for-hunting-hunting-with-single-shot-muzzleloaders-hunt/
At least it shows the pistol with the weights and I have the right author. My memory hasn't left me yet. _l
I will keep looking and see if I can't come up with it. Also found a few reviews on other forums.http://www.muzzleloadingforum.com/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/202409/ and this http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=462186

Thanks for those links! My pistol is 45 caliber; still, it is (I believe) legal for deer in Wisconsin. Will have to do more checking on that.

You would be good to go with a .45 for deer hunting in Wisconsin. To be legal for Wisconsin it has to be .44 or larger and a minimum of 7 inches from breech face to muzzle and shoot at least a single 138 gr. projectile.

I found the magazine with the story I was talking about. I will scan it and try to figure out how to get it posted or emailed to you.
