Uberti Griswold &Gunnison made in 1969 (Value?)
« on: February 16, 2013, 04:35:52 PM »
I bought this off GB last week intending to sell it, now I'm not so sure. The natural aging on this piece makes it look like an original (pic's don't do it justice)!! Everything is tight as a drum, the bore is an 8.5+ out of ten, the nipples are good, the replacement sight is cool and the timing is excellent. Now I know pristine is what's wanted in the reproduction market, but I like stuff that looks, "rode hard and put away wet"....especially when it's mechanically sound. I gave $130 which included shipping, if I didn't break even, I'm sure I came close, Fingers, Indy, etc, what-cha-think? Oh, it's missing the wedge retaining screw...no biggie.

Discovered and fixed a MAJOR problem with my short bbl G&G, the loading lever became way too small to operate the way it was.

I was just sitting around , reading this post on  Griswold and Gunnison . Did a Google search and read a bit about that fine revolver.........Next thing I know, I'm on the Cabelas site and one is in my shopping cart!!! How does this happen!

$199 from Cabelas for a Pietta G&G.

It's back ordered for a few weeks, but I had $90 in Cabelas Bucks from my Cabelas Visa card and there is a special $5 shipping offer so it cost me just a bit north of $100......I've done a whole lot worse things with a hundred dollar bill! ;)

So I order up this G&G and a few hours later, my best buddy who works at a local gun shop calls me to tell me he just purchased a used G&G from a customer for $50!!!!

He couldn't believe I had just ordered one! This is his first C&B......I bet he'll have a dozen by the end of the year!

It's in the stars I tell ya! A synchronicity!
