Got me a Spiller & Burr at last
« on: August 11, 2012, 11:21:13 PM »
Just picked this one up - definitely has a different "feel" to it. The grip is shorter than a navy, almost pocket model sized, but with a full-size frame I have to sort of "choke up" on it to make it feel comfortable. So my trigger finger goes further through the guard than normal, with the second joint on the trigger. ??? But I like it. (T^

Nice one Berkley and a good photo of it.  Is that an original 4-15-1865 New York Herald too?

It is an original New York Herald. I was able to take the picture when the sky was overcast so I didn't get too much reflection off the glass.

Pics please! ??? We want to see pics. Often wondered about that gun. Most people that have them like um. From what I understand they're a little bigger than a pocket model and a little smaller than a Remmy right? I like to see a pic of one side by side with a Remmy just to get the idea of the difference in the size of them.  (^h
If it's not broke don't try fixin it.

I will  agree a little smaller than my remmy here they are side by side and a veiw from the grips remember also 44 vs 36 cal both are Pietta's

Yeah, I've held one (but never shot one) and they are definitely on the petite side of the Remmy (especially the Pietta Remmies, which are bigger than the ASP models). Not a real fan of the whole loading lever thumbscrew thing, but they are a unique revolver. Nice example. We'll be expecting a range report!
