If you really want a Spiller and Burr
« on: January 30, 2012, 07:42:24 PM »

You could go to the Cabelas web site and order one now that they are on sale for 199.99.

I have been looking for one for a while and saving the pennies to pay for it.
Today I noticed the sale on their web site, so went to the local store to see if they had any in stock there.
Nope.
They did place the order for me for a store pickup, however, so no shipping.

I think this sale just started, as I have been watching this model every few days since Christmas.

OK, so I ordered one and here it is:

I think this is a nice addition to my CSA collection.

The fit is very good.
Finish is a high polish, but they did not flatten the surface very well before polishing.

The grip is kinda slim, slimmer than the Remington.

I like it.

I got one from Cabela's when they first went down to 200 bucks. "Cool piece to have in a collection".

I cocked it a lot at normal speed and it never left a mark on the cylinder. When I started drawing and cocking it hard and fast it started to over rotate and left marks just before and after the slot.

I like that the gun just hangs her front sight on what-ever your lookin at. It's almost hard to shake it of target! Haven't shot mine yet but will compare it's 6.5 barrel to the 7.5 on the 51s as far as performance.  {L* {L*

I love the balance of mine, just feels natural.
Weebles wobble but they won't fall down...
