They used brass to resist corrosion from the salt water. ->i

You got the .44 cal brass 51 Navy Geraldo? I think your going to love that little Colt. I got mine and people made fun of it cause it was what people call not "PC" well it's one of the best little shooters I've got "PC" or not. I shoot mine a lot with 20grs and love it. I can't wait for you to get yours and shoot it and tell us what you think of it. Even the Capten showed up with the short barrel Colt and said he likes his. I'd like to have one with the short barrels. It'll probably shoot about 6" high just file the V shape sight in the hammer a little at a time and it will be right on the money. Everytime I go to the fishing hole mine go's with me you just let Mr snake show his head and he want have one  )L$ or take it to the trash dump and pop rats with it. {?| Powder last a long time with one of those. I don't haft to have a big boom to have fun all the time.  :)
If it's not broke don't try fixin it.

My brass framed .44 just arrived, and man is it nice.  The action is every bit as slick as my Uberti L&R.  Conveniently I'm going to the range tomorrow.

All of us want to hear how it went fellas. I just know the report will be good. out of all the other revolvers I've bought that little brass Colt is the only one I leave out in the open. I can't keep my hands off it.  ::)

It shot as well as anything else I own, and a hell of a lot better than the guy next to me who was using a plastic framed .45acp.  It's a little high, like all Colts, but worked fine with 20gr Goex 3f.  I added a bit of cornmeal over the powder because I wasn't sure if I could ram the ball down far enough.

I do like it, and I should have bought two of them.  Oh, well, it gives me a reason to keep an eye on the sale prices.

Pics will be in the range forum when I get a chance.

Oh, I've got pics  ;)  I'll do a little filing on the hammer to bring the group down a bit, but it's still MOS (minute of saloon).
