Probably a Stevens or fulton
Turn the action over; if there is a screw in the trigger plate it's probably a Fulton. If not it's probably a Stevens.
He goes on to say....
Feb. 10, 1914, refers to G.S. Lewis' Patent No. 1,086,378 assigned to the J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co. of Chicopee Falls, Mass. The patent covers a coil-spring powered hammer double built on a box frame. The gun was introduced in the J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co. Catalog No. 54 as a Riverside Arms Co. No. 215. After WW-I the J. Stevens Arms Co., now a wholly owned subsidiary of Savage Arms Corp. continued to manufacture the gun as a Riverside Arms Co. No. 215 into the late 1920s. By 1930 they dropped the Riverside name and their low priced line of guns was Springfield Arms Co., and the gun was still a No. 215. In addition to their Riverside and Springfield names they manufactured these guns under numerous "trade names" including RANGER for Sear, Roebuck & Co. T
but this may not be your gun you mention 311 (?) he says 215
