Title: Leaving cylinders loaded 8 monthe
Post by: Dresden on May 06, 2019, 10:36:14 AM
I loaded two cylinders Oct,18 and shot them May,19 I did forget to check the lube I use on the pin, first 5 shots were OK but the second 6 caused fouling problems on shot 5&6. Lubing the pin with my bees wax and coconut oil allows about 4 cylinders with no problem. I load my lube on a cardboard was punched out of wine case seperator cardboard. The lubed was is on top of the bullet no fouling or leading, one wipe with a damp rag cleans out most of the bore.

Looks good. As long as there is no lube that can come in contact with the powder, you should be good for a while. Robert E. Lee's Navy Colt was fired 7 years after his death. The chamber mouths were sealed with beeswax.
