Typical mountain weather in the summer. Thunderstorms blow in every afternoon. They hardly ever drop any rain, and when they do it's only for 30 min at most. The clouds do cool it off some. I live in an area called the banana belt, because of mild weather year around. I'm at 8000ft, and surrounded by 14,000ft peaks. They suck out all the moisture before it hits us here in town.

I'm just 25 min away from 11,000 ft. That's where I hang out most of the year. A little higher in summer, and a bit lower in winter. I never ever go below 8000ft.

Some think Denver is high. It's only 5000ft. We can people who live there flatlanders.  :D

Guys from Texas are moles.  :P

ill bet the air is pretty good there even if it is a little thin! i went thru a 14000 ft pass in colo one time! i thought i was gonna have to get out and push the el camino the last bit up the hill!  it was hard to breathe !  theres a reason the old mountain men were often referred to as a crazy old coot!   i do know it is beautiful there having been in that area before the only thing is all the deer have shorter legs on one side from living on a mountain!
