« on: July 13, 2018, 05:17:58 PM »
Was finicky to load for. 25 gn spout, FF 777, homemade felt wad, .380 RB and no over-ball lube.

This was 5 @ 25 yds. Clocks 1040 fps

Nice!

Mine has always shot well with .380s and Olde Eyensford.

Very nice group! Have you tried any groups at 50yds.? You must of been resting that revolver for that group?

+1 I'd stick with that load to. I been doing pretty good with 20 gr T7 FFF loads in my Colt 51 Navy. It's taking me a while to get use to that powder. Been using it in one of my ROAs with 30 gr loads. Both guns are being loaded with rd ball with lubed wads between powder and ball.
If it's not broke don't try fixin it.

Actually, I was shooting one-handed, standing on one foot, with my tongue tied to my ear...
(just kidding) ;)

Shooting from seated rest, arms resting on the bag. Only way to see what a load can really do.

VERY nice! Under two inches, and a pretty near full load too.  80 grains at 1040; that's 192 ft lbs and it's just a shade under the 380 Automatic.  With a 100 or 110 grain bullet I think it will exceed the 380, thoughbeit from a longer barrel.

I believe that's a keeper.

Under 8 MOA; I say you should be trying it at 100 yards, just for kicks.

I have only one gun that's done almost as well so far at 25, and it's a Uberti 36 also (a Colt '62 Police) and it did it with the Accurate Molds 38-100C bullet.

Now that is some decent shooting! I almost bought one of those Navy models yesterday, but beings i'm casting .457 and don't have a .36 mold, I ordered another .44. I didn't notice that ring on the butt you have there, you must of added that? I hope I can get groups like that with the .44. Is the frame any smaller than the .44 version?

Believe the .36/.44 run the same frame, though thought I read this is historically incorrect.

Lanyard ring is for an Enfield revolver, wishin’ I’d bought the Webley

I agree, my EuroArms 36 is the same frame size as the two EuroArms 44's above it. The top Traditions is the only one larger. Excuse all the mixed colors, was playing with duo-tone options.

Collecting about any color cap and ball revolver as long as it has a top strap and 8", 6 1/2", 5 1/2" or 4" barrel.

Due to tremors, my groups have never been near those of Skillet's.  Really doesn't matter since it's all about noise and smoke anyway; oh, all the smoke and flash.
