Old school cylinder flutes.
« on: May 13, 2018, 10:48:19 PM »
I tried machining cylinder flutes on my Kirst 5 shot cartridge conversion for my 1860 Uberti to copy the ones on my 1862 Uberti. I could have got them to match a little closer if I'd used two different machining operations but I got lazy and just used one. I did it with a 5/8" ball mill. I just touched it up with cold blue, gotta get a hot blue set up one of these days.

Good job Brad.   The fluted cylinder makes for a really nice looking conversion.
